GOLD DETAILS
When ordering gold jewelry in Thailand or anywhere else on the globe, you would need to understand the 10k, 14k and 18k gold specifications. The same is true of jewelry crafted by Kaisilver - we generally recommend 14k jewelry as, this gold standard has the right combination of gold and metal hardness. The terms 10k, 14k, and 18k refer to the purity of gold in a particular piece of jewelry, measured in karats (k). Pure gold is 24 karats, but since pure gold is soft and easily scratched, it’s typically alloyed with other metals like silver, copper, nickel, or zinc to make it more durable for jewelry. The number before the "k" indicates how many parts of gold are in the total of 24 parts, with the remaining parts being other metals.
SILVER JEWELRY
Silver jewelry in Thailand is largely mass produced, this to ensure that prices remain attractive for a mass market. Quite obvious that mass produced silver jewelry, lacks the fine elements of silver jewelry handcrafted by expert artisans. High quality silver jewelry does take time to craft and it also, involves a higher price tag as compared to mass produced jewelry purchased off the shelf. The mention of silver jewelry cannot ignore the fact that, silver tarnishes over time. This is a discoloration of the metal surface, fortunately cleaning the tarnish need not be a major challenge.
